Insurance Commissioner asks the Board to finish Zone 0
California's Insurance Commissioner asked the Board of Forestry to speed up the Zone 0 rules, saying one statewide standard would help keep home insurance available.
He pointed out that insurers already have to give discounts for a noncombustible 5-foot area around a home under the state's Safer from Wildfires rules.
What it means for you
- Insurance and Zone 0 are linked even before Zone 0 is law. A clear 5 feet can already count toward a discount.
