Do I have to replace my wood fence for Zone 0?

Partly. A combustible fence or gate cannot attach to the house. You need a 5-foot section that does not burn where it meets the house.
- No new combustible fences or gates within 5 feet of the house after the rule takes effect.
- Repairs can use noncombustible materials.
What to do instead
Replace the last 5 feet with metal or masonry.
Timing: Existing homes: within 3 years, or up to 5 on a local fire agency's schedule.
